The Artificial Physiology (AP) Research Line deals with human-machine interfaces. From unconventional High-Density ElectroMyoGraphy (sEMG) to read the tiny electrical signals generated by muscles during movements up to underactuated exoskeltons, passing through the optimization of the electrode contact surface and the design of new electronics, algorithm and robotics devices. Four main application domains:
- Prosthetics
- Neuro-muscular rehabilitation
- RSI evaluation
- Entertainment and fitness
AP's Laboratories
ALab - Algorithms design, testing and porting
ReHab Lab - HDsEMG and robotics devices R&D
Projects are implemented in a team that converges a synergic effort among physiology, mechanics, engineering, biophysics, bioengineering, mechatronics and computational R&D, tightly integrated within a collaborative IIT-network and enriched by scientific and industrial collaborations at the national and international dimension.
